Well I still have 6 years to go to 70, but cannot imagine not riding well after than. It is all about the skills that you have developed over a life time of riding and racing an all the good habits that go with it.

I'll be 70 in 5 months and sure don't have plans on giving it up. When my wife (9 years younger) retires we're already making plans for our toy hauler and a year (or more) on the road. We're moving south so there's less winter and more riding season.
I retired once and couldn't stand the inactivity after the first year so I went back to work. When she's ready, so am I.
I'm in good shape, no health issues, no meds, and am the oldest of all of my friends. One of which went with me last month to carry the mascot on a 1500 mile weekend trip. The next weekend I asked if he wanted to go with me on a 150 mile trip to move the mascot north towards Chappy. His response "my *** is still sore, no thanks'. LOL

For those that make unqualified statements about age related abilities..stuff it!

I`ll turn 72 next month. `Been riding all my life and never been down (plenty of close calls though). I can`t imagine not riding either my bicycle or motorcycle. `Don`t ride the bicycle as far as I used to, but still ride almost daily. The last time I rode a 100 mile bicycle event was in 2010 (5th one in Wichita Falls, TX; got slower every year, LOL!) Yeah, I`m slowing down some, but I can`t think of anything more enjoyable than riding my motorcycle and bicycle.

I'm the OP. Glad to see a few us "more mature" riders are still on the road.

I've 5 more years to get to 70 but unless I'm given a ton of money between now and then, I've got 2-3 more years of riding left. I can't pay for a bike without a job.

You should be getting SS by now even if you still work. Do you?

I went to a motorcycle race a few weeks ago. This guy won his heat race AND the main event. Racing with 20 other guys at well over 110 mph. BTW.....he's 79 years old!
