Default Is This New Gasket Still Usable?

I ordered the gasket pictured below, and our genius USPS deliverer literally folded it in half (it was shipped between two thick, FLAT pieces of cardboard) to cram it into our mailbox.

I'm not experienced enough to know if it's no big deal, just use it, or if it's ruined.

Just wow.
I wouldn't use it myself. Have you filed a complaint with USPS?

That looks like a metal core gasket, if so it's ruined

The gasket is shot.

Was the package marked "do not fold"? If not, the carrier is going to fit it into your mailbox, he/she is a letter carrier, not a mechanic.

Thanks for the replies.

I contacted the seller and they're shipping me a new one and filing a claim with USPS. Meanwhile, I'm going down to our post office this morning to give them some feedback so that hopefully the same thing doesn't happen to the new one.

Should have been shipped in a shallow cardboard box anyway.

That is just dumb....that mail carrier should be "notified" that they ruined your part. Common sense is just no common anymore.
