Tube in tubeless rim / tire as temporary fix - 2013 RK Classic
Hey guys, I need urgent advice / help.
Today I took my 2013 road king classic to my HD dealer for a 1st tire change.
I have stock tubeless laced rims (it says tubeless on them) and the new tires are (as the old ones) tubeless. So the front tire change went smoothly - but my dealer couldn't reuse the old "rim seal kit" for the new rear tire and didn't have any in stock....
So... they put TUBE into tubeless tire / rim as temporary solution until next week. They said it's not optimal but it shouldn't be a problem. It holds air OK, after 100 miles (trip back home) - no problems.
My question.... how much do I have to worry until the permanent FIX...
1. Don't ride you're instantlly going to die because its a bad fix (HD manual forbids using tube in tubeless rim/tire in BOLD font)
2. Don't ride - wait for the fix and ride only to the dealer
3. It's OK - Ride carefully and check tire often
4. No problem - Ride normally, check tire as usually (1x /2 weeks)
5. Forget about it, ride normally and get the fix next week
Or... another option?
And yes... I live in Europe where many parts are not in stock (I'm just mad that they didn't anticipate this...)...
Thanks alot!!!

I agree. I'm sure I've read that some owners give up on using no tubes with those rims. You may find that to be a worthwhile way ahead, cheaper and simpler.

I shall ride without worry until the final fix then!!!
I live in Ljubljana and I remember the gallery about the oldest wheel (kolo) - but never went to check it out... You should revisit Ljubljana sometime in the summer - it's more beautiful every year - also we are the green capital of Europe this year!!!

That's good to hear. We enjoyed our stay there, in August IIRC and the sun shone all the time. The waitress in one of the cafe's in the centre taught us hvala, which was a great success, wherever we went!
