Default 32 tooth comp sprocket needs a 7th gear

I installed a 32 tooth compensator sprocket on my 2011 ultra limited this past week and love the torque that I have gained, but I now need a 7th gear for cruising.. I just can't stand having it sound like I need to shift when I am running down the highway at 65.

has anyone done this modification and then installed the Baker DD7 and would the 7th gear give me back my cruising gear?

thanks

Many threads on this..including one I started.

The Baker 7 speed has the same ratio in 7th as the 6 speeds in 6th.

But, Baker has a 6 speed, where 6th gear is overdrive. That would do it,..for $3,400...

Good grief - wear ear plugs! Best tuning aid known to man. I've owned bikes with 3, 4, 5 and 6 speed trannies and looked for an extra gear on every one. If you buy a 7-speed you'll soon be looking for 8th gear and then where will you go?! Relax and ride.....

Wouldn't it have been less expensive to have just kept the stock compensator number of teeth / gearing? And now your looking at changing your transmission, what was the reason for changing the number of teeth on the compensator? You towing a boat or something?

normally and this is for all vehicles in a non-over drive tranny top gear is 1:1 be it 3,4,5,10,13 speed and overdrive tranny is around .78:1 in high gear it's not the number if gears it's the final drive in your case. building motors is a compromise you'll never be able to have it all, you chose a more guttsie take off. You might like it better if you go up 1 tooth not as strong at the light but smoother on the highway.

At this point considering cost see if you can find a larger drive pulley that will drop your rpm,s but might just defeat the purpose of your original mod

Put it back to stock and call it good. Then, don't fix anything else.

My bud with a '16 RG installed Andrews 57h cams. He didn't want to get into addressing a comp bump.
The way he describes it is that it isn't "soft" on the bottom, but "stock". But then mid rpm the candles light. TTS tuned.
To fix the bottom feel, he installed the Game Changer. He says about >300 rpm on the freeway. Lots of twist down low now.
Not my choice, I'd raise the comp.
