Default Loosening handle bar bolts

I had 14" Yaffe's installed by the dealer on my 2017 RG around February 2018. When I picked up the bike the bars were too far forward for me, so when I went home I loosened the bolts and adjusted them. No issues for almost 18 months. I was doing a three hole fluid change and while pulling the bike out of the stand that hold the bike upright my handle bars moved. I took it apart and and noticed the bolts were kind of loose. I tightened them up and put it back together. About a week later I felt that the bars were a little too forward for me, so I took it apart to adjust and noticed that while the handle bars weren't moving the bolts were a little loose. I'm thinking that if I apply a little lock tite it will solve the issue. My buddy claims that his bolts haven't loosened at all since his handle bar install and he doesn't use lock tite. He thinks I have a deeper problem. I have the stock stabilizing plates securing the bars. My bars also vibrate while the bike idles which may explain the bolts loosening.. Not noticed while riding. I didn't torque the bolts when I tightened them, but they were good and tight. I'm sure at torque or better.
I just wanted to see if anyone else has had the same thing happen to them and what did you do about it. Thank you all in advance for the replies.

I always use blue loctite on handlebar bolts. I never had that kind of problem and I don't know if that's the reason. But it sure can't hurt to use the stuff.

16-20 ft pounds on the upper clamp bolts. I didn’t use loctite when changing my bars, as the manual didn’t state to.

Believe it or not, in May my buddy and I were out riding a couple of hours from home and as we came up to a stop light I hear him yell. I look back and his handlebars are in his hand but not connected to the bike. How he kept from dropping it I'll never know. Scary moment. Shook him up good. He had put risers on last summer and they loosen up and stripped themselves. Cheap risers.

I re-tighten my bars/risers on both bikes before I rode again.

Wow that is amazing! I believe it. I’m lucky it didn’t happen to me!

Are the Yaffe's the same diameter as your old bars?

Good question. They appear to be, but I don’t know for sure. Thank you for your reply. I’ll look into it.

It looks like the Yaffes are 1" at the riser clamp and stock is 1.25. I don't see how that that account for the bolts loosening though.
