Default Throttle issue

Hello ladies and gents, so I bought my 93 1200 sportster with 14,000 miles and we’ll maintained from a buddy. He hasn’t been able to ride it for a little while now and I noticed that I get a small bogg when I throttle down, shift, then throttle back up. But the second I give it more gas she rides just fine. He said that it may just need a good ride because she has been sitting for about 2-3 months, it has a S&s carb and starts right up no problems and no backfiring. What do you guys think could be going on. Should a nice ride do it or what do you suggest? Thank u, “Geeker”….

I'd put some fuel system cleaner of your choice (techron would be mine) in the tank, run a full tank or 2 of fuel through it, and then worry about any running issues if they remain.

Make sure the accelerator pump works. Take the air cleaner off and you will see a little brass squirter coming up through the venturi. When you twist the throttle you should see fuel being squirted into the venturi. Do it with the engine off..
