Diagnostic Trouble Code P0108
Hello everyone, I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right thread. I currently have a check engine light on my 2004 Road King FLHRCI and I did the diagnostic through my odometer and the only code that is coming up is under the P=ECM/ICM (P0108 Map Sensor Failed High). I cleared the codes and did a short bike ride and by the time I got back home the same code came back on. The bike is running great with now loss of power or anything like that. I dont want to keep riding my bike with that light on and possibly doing some kind of damage to the engine. Does anyone know how to fix this problem without taking the bike to the dealership. I don't feel like spending $200 if I can do this myself. Should I replace the Map Sensor and replace the air filter? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I had a MAP go flaky on a carbed bike. You may not notice anything wrong except for a slight drop in gas mileage and maybe a little throttle response. It's either a the map or the wiring to the map. Since you got to pull the tank to remove or check wiring, I'd replace MAP and check wiring. A tug on each wire at the map connector is usually all that's needed. If the wire seems stretchy it's likely broken inside. Depending on your skills, you might want to pull the throttle body and replace the manifold seals with the age of the bike. Gotta be careful doing that as it's easy to screw up.
