Default Android Auto Connection

Hello - I'm looking for some help with downloading the HD software update for the android auto. We have a 2018 Street Glide Special and would like to update our current stock software to be able to use google maps instead of the HD Maps. My understanding is that you can update the stock software (version 1.22.0.1) to allow the android auto app to be used.

I've downloaded the software, unzipped it, transferred it to a 3.0 flash drive 128GB, plugged that into the bike USB port, turned it on to accessory and nothing happens. I even left it like that for 5 minutes and still nothing. The flash drive blinks twice and then nothing. Just crickets chirping in the background. sigh.... Can anyone lend me some help with this?

Shelly

If you have a 2018 with the 6.5 radio, I don't believe you can use AA (or Apple Carplay)

Need to upgrade to the new GTS radio

Also, welcome to the boards. Where in MA - I use to live in Attleboro

Thank you so much for letting us know. Is that something we'd have to take the bike to Harley and have them update it to the GTS radio? We live in Wilbraham, MA - Western Massachusetts. The closest Harley dealership is about 45 min towards Worcester or 45 min to Enfield, CT.

Yes, you can take the bike to the Harley dealer and ask them to install the new GTS radio. That unit is about $1900. At times I have seen them on sale for about $1400 - check around.

Others have installed an aftermarket unit like the Sony 7000 - for about $800. My preference would be to stick with the Harley radio

Good luck

Lived therefor 25+ years. Spent many days of my youth ripping thru the trails in town on my dirt bike
