Default cutting handlebar ends to decrease width

2012 electra glide. I've got a set of ERGO back bars from KlockWerks that are just to wide for me. They are about 35 and I really need a 31.

Any issues with just trimming the bar ends and cutting notches for the throttle by wire?

If for no other reason the switch housings mountings most likely will be troublesome.
According to how the bars are made.

Agreed, not sure how you would skin that cat.

I have cut a few Renthals for off-road bikes, but never for the street.

OP, I have a brand new set of KW Back Ergos in a box if you screw those ones up!

Why not. A Dremel with a small cutoff wheel to cut the notch, but make sure ya file the edges clean and smooth.

If the bars are a consistent diameter, which will allow for the controls to slide closer to the middle, it should be no problem. But if you have large diameter bars, the "step" in the bar would prevent the controls from moving. Post up a pic of your bars. With 1" bars I have done that in the past, took about 2" off each end on a Sportster, worked out great. Good luck.
