I may have missed it or when plugged in, a prominent 'return' for that part # was; K&N 'OIL ME' FILTER,
which I'd like to avoid, other returns show a blue filter with a mounting-hole pattern that
looks significantly different at the top, and whether searching that part # or just a general
search for 2009 FLHTCU; the 'blue' filter (paper) had reviews talking about needing to redrill
holes in order to make it fit.
So the part number is correct, but there are multiple vendors offering their 'take'
on the design and application of that part.
Edit to add;
I mentioned that the Blue filters coming back on the part # had a different looking
mounting hole pattern, searching again right now, I'm finding this (above) filter
that actually has the 'ears' at the top mounting-holes and appears an exact fit,
there are many other similar to this but the hole pattern is significantly 'off'.
Also, this verbiage in listings for that part number
came up now and earlier in my general search as; '2016-2017 FLSS Softail Slim'
Anyway, I have what I think is an OEM (for my set up) filter on the way.

I couldn't find a dry paper element air filter that wasn't oversize. On my bike, the oversize (taller) filter pushes my leg out so I can't reach the rear brake pedal. I know because I bought one to try. Tossed it.
So, back to the oiled toilet paper rock-catcher. I don't bother with all the scrubbing and oiling routine. I just get another one each spring. Fuch it.

Ok, slight hijack here. This is the filter on my 14 Ultra Limited that I picked up last summer. I’ve never had a blue filter before and see no numbers on it anywhere (even on the back when I removed it for cleaning). I assume it’s not K&N since their logo isn’t stamped on it like my old filter on my 05 Ultra with a big sucker kit. Oil or no? I’m leaning towards getting another big sucker kit for this bike, has Cobra slip ons.

stuff, and life in general, however, I think the consensus is that if its 'K&N Red' , it's very likely
an 'oil-me' filter, they seem to come pre-oiled and redish.
So far, the blue filters I've seen are non-oil. shrugs....
Someone will probably come along and straighten this out for you eventually..
