I got this bike from my uncle, 2013 Electra glide classic, gifted to me. Been sitting since 2020. I’ve replaced the battery, 3 hole oil change, new plugs, new plug wires, new crank position sensor, new fuel tank, new fuel lines and fuel pump assembly. Bike is cranking but won’t turn over and run. I thought the crank sensor was the issue but apparently not. Any advice would be appreciated to try out before giving up and bringing it in somewhere.

 

Does it have spark? Did it run when parked? Does it have codes?

 

It ran perfectly when he picked it up. Yes it has spark. It has pressurized fuel. Could it be clogged injectors? Something with the throttle? No codes that I see immediately. I’ll have to read the manual and see how to find/read codes.

 

Bike off, hold tripometer, turn bike on, release. More likely something from storage.

Never done it, but next step may be check fuel pressure.

Could put some gas in cylinder and see if does anything.

Plugs wet?


Not sure how hard it is to get to injectors look at manual and YouTube.

 

Why did you replace the fuel tank? Were all of those components diagnosed as bad or were you just replacing any parts that had to to with fuel?
Fuel pressure test is needed, and clogged injectors might have been your problem all along.

 

I had similar issue. After I changed my fuel filter for some reasons one of fuel line inside the tank slip out. Bike won't run and no error code, so I will check that

 

People talk about the quick disconnect under tank being loose. Mine dripped,but ran, when not right.

 

Welcome to the HDFORUM. Hit it with a few mist of gasoline in front of throttle body while cranking with air filter off? What does it do?

Totally remove as much fuel out with a kerosene heater syphon and refill with mid grade 10% ethanol to catch and other moisture in tank?

I assume it's turning over. Think you mean it's cranking and turning over from starter. Just won't run on it's own.

You say you replaced fuel tank. What was wrong with old one? Where did you get one? How much did that cost?
