I have a chance to buy a 92 HD FLHTP for $ 6,200 it runs great looks great , has 49,000 miles though - but its the cheapest i've seen around for that size bike - and all i have - I HATE FAIRINGS AND WANT TO REMOVE IT - does anyone know what level of difficulty and what kind of money we're talking here ? thank you

Difficulty is high, but not impossible. Everything under the fairing is ugly (it was hidden so no need for pretty). A lot of re-wiring needed, new headlight must be set up, Speedometer, warning lights need to be re-located. Easiest fix, trade it in on a Road King. Sorry Dude, hope this helps.

+1 what Miacycles said; and, it may be hard finding the parts you need given the age of the bike.
