Gas tank liner problem
I have a 72 flh that one tank had a liner previously. It sat for 12 years empty and now the tank is rusted inside under the liner. I have tried chemicals (mek, thiners, denatured alcohol), Nuts and bolts and shaking it around, rocks, everything I can think of. I got 90% out with a airgun but the other 10 percent is causing me hell with the carb. Flakes of rust are getting into the jets and clogging them. I have cleaned the bowl and petcock screen but would like to get all the rust out of the tank. Any Ideas?
POR 15 will get that crap out, including the old liner.

it had to be a bad diy project.. you could always get it relined. the chemicals that they use eat through rust and old liner material. then use cream tank liner or a radiator shop has a red liner they put in. it is good, you will never have another problem..
a good fuel filter is always good to use too. you might have to get creative with a longer fuel line to make it fit..
