Indiana law clearly specifies that any Ohio rider joining an Indiana ride must buy lunch for said Indiana riders.

I think it's safe to say we would welcome any riders from anywhere, even Ohio, lol.

Jeez, I can't seem to finish a sentence without some kind of smart remark. I need help.

Hope you can make it! (there, I did it)

It looks like the best time for most of us is the weekend of September 27-28. So lets do it then! I've got some ideas for the trip, but I'd like some input and other suggestions.

Here is a tentative agenda:

Leave Saturday morning (27th) from someplace on the south side of Indy at route 67. Any suggestions?
Take the routes I mentioned in a previous post through Spencer and Bedford to French Lick. 43 out of Spencer is great! 450 is another very fun bike road.

Spend some time in French Lick. We can check out the West Baden hotel.

It is worth seeing.
Have lunch at the French Lick Winery. Also do some wine sampling if you like.

Spend some time at the French Lick Casino if you like.

If not look for some roads around French Lick to ride.

Head on to Jasper for the night. I can check to see if we can get better rates at the Days Inn for a group (or do you want to stay at the more expensive Hampton Inn?). But we probably will need to make reservations soon because these places do book up especially this time of year. If something comes up to change your plans, you can always cancel your motel room.
Saturday night - Eat dinner at the Schnitzelbank Restaurant. It has great German food and even better German beer!
http://www.schnitzelbank.com/

Sunday we can head south to Troy on 545 and Tell City. Take 66 to 62 to Leavenworth. Check out the Overlook but eat lunch at The Dock along the Ohio River.

Continue east on 62 to Corydon and head north on 135.
Pass through Salem, Brownstown, and stop at Story for a break.

Don't worry about the music linked to the link above. It's a cool place. This is a favorite stop for bikers riding along 135. The basement bar or the patio are for us!

Continue to Nashville and stop to shop if you like. I like going in the Pitbull Leather Company or stop by the wall and take a break watching all the bikes go by.

Depending on the time, we can eat dinner either at Story or Nashville. Or we can continue up 135 to Morgantown where there is a decent Mexican restaurant. Or if the time isn't right, head home to Indy for dinner.

Let me know how this sounds. These are some ideas and I am welcome to any changes or suggestions. If staying somewhere else would be better, let us know. If there are some other places that we need to stop, please let us know. Just so you know this agenda gives us a shorter ride on Saturday and a longer ride on Sunday. That way you can spend some time in French Lick.

Oh yeah, one other thing. Don't forget your cameras!

I checked Days Inn at Jasper and they told me that they give a 12 percent discount on 10 rooms or more. I don't think we will get that many rooms so it looks like the normal AAA or Government discounts are best. They give a 15 percent discount for rooms that don't allow a cancellation (those rooms are $62.90 plus tax). If you get a room with AAA or Government discount but leave option to cancel latter, they are $66.60 plus tax. These rates are good if you book from the Internet at:

http://www.daysinn.com/DaysInn/contr...7&brandInfo=DI

If you call they give a rate of $87.99 plus tax with 10 percent discount for AAA, Government, or AARP ($79.19 plus tax). You can save several dollars booking through their web page above.

Need some input. Shall we stay at the Days Inn in Jasper? Any other suggestions?

Ozoneman,
I would take 62 toward Corydon, and instead of turning left onto 135 continue on 62 "down" into Corydon. Several things to see here, Corydon was the First State Capitol of Indianna from 1816-1825 when it was moved to INDY. The old state capitol building, Treasury Building, and the Govenors house are all there to tour, There are MANY MANY shops of all types around the square. On the Corner of Catitol and Chestnut a nice B&B to stay, Just south of Corydon (14 mile on 135) is Squire Boone Caverns were the brother of Daniel Boone hid from the Indians, ALSO west of Corydon on 62 (before you pass it) is Wyandotte Carverns.
ALL is worth spending time to see............I am from Corydon still have family there and ride the Hills several times a year...........Good luck....................Marty

MyRide7, thanks for the info. I recently stayed at that B&B in downtown Corydon on my last ride down there. That time we did the other stuff and then headed to Madison and Aurora the second day.

We will make the things you mentioned an option for everyone once we see how far along we are when we get there. Don't want to get back too late Sunday evening.

You can count us as IN!!! Allthough we are forced to opt for the cheap hotel, (wife said something about Kids wedding, bike trip to Key West and a Cruise all in the next few months). We are open to what ever route, we just enjoy riding. Let us know when you guys start to make reservations and i will make the wife get our room. We are really looking forward to this!!!

This sounds interesting. Have room for a blue Ultra on the trip?

My Ohio wife rides a Ohio Fat Boy TRIKE and wants to know if other wife's are on the trip and if Ohio wife's are allowed, and if TRIKE riders are allowed?

After all if is the trike of the month on "Trike Talk Forum" this month, she says I have to give her respect because I only ride a plain dark gray Street Glide.
