Default Ride from Indy to southern Indiana

I was wondering if any of you guys and gals want to get together for a ride to southern Indiana in late September or early October. I have a route that I've used before that is the best! It starts in Indy and goes to Spencer on 67. There we get on 43 to Bedford. At Bedford we take 450 and 150 to French Lick. Head south and get on 545 to Troy. Take 66 east to Tell City and continue to 62 and Leavenworth. Eat at The Dock and continue east to Corydon on 62. Then north on 135 thru Salem, Brownstown, Story, and Nashville. Then head for home. This can be a very long one day trip or a overnight trip if you want to take it easy. It is almost 400 miles so it would be a lot easier over two days. If we want to keep it one day, we could shorten it some.

Here are some shots along the way.

I'm there. A 2 day ride is fine with me. I do work some Saturdays so depending on the weekend I might need to take a day off but it sounds like this ride would be worth it.

If we did a two day trip, I'd suggest we stay in Jasper or Tell City. I never stayed in Tell City so I don't know what kind of restaurants or other stuff is there. Days Inn in Tell City is only $45 plus tax. On the other hand, in Jasper there is this good German restaurant with very good German beer. The Days Inn in Jasper is about $68 plus tax. Right next door to the German restaurant is a Hampton Inn but it costs about $120 a night. I've stayed at both places in Jasper and both are decent motels.

If we want to do a one day trip, then I'd suggest the Spencer, Bedford, French Lick, Levenworth, Tell City and back to Indy without going east to Corydon and and up 135. We can still do part of 62 on this shorter trip. 135 can always be part of another day trip on another day.

I don't want to discourage anyone from going, so lets hear from those that are interested. One day, two day? Shorter ride, longer ride? I'm all for coming to a consensus with everyone and I'll be happy.

BTW, I'm thinking either the last weekend in September (27 and/or 28) or first weekend in October (4 and/or 5). How are those dates?

Default I may be able to make it...

I'm in Evansville, but familiar with these fantastic routes from my previous "bike life" (just got back into it 2 weeks ago with an '09 Heritage Softail Classic). Depends on the route and the weekend. First weekend in October works best for me.

We would be interested in doing this ride. The 27/28 works for us the best. Would be nice to meet a few others from here and go for a nice ride every now and again.

I'm open to either weekend but I'm scheduled to work on Saturday, Oct. 4th. If we decide on a 2 day ride then Sep. 27+28 would work best for me. If we go for a 1 day ride I'm good for Sep. 27, 28 and Oct. 5 without having to request a day off work.

Im ok with either 1 or 2 days for the ride, whichever works best for the majority I'm in.
