How do you feel about it? I notice more and more kitchens where there are no upper cabinets at all and just shelves hanging, or even nothing there. I’m used to standard kitchens with full upper storage, and it feels strange to me. Is there really enough space?

Maybe I’ll say something not so obvious, but we’re all different, and everyone has different amounts of stuff and kitchen utensils at least. There are people whose kitchen is purely decorative. It’s important that it looks nice, that you can quickly heat something up and make coffee, and otherwise the person mostly eats out or orders delivery. Everyone chooses what works for them.

I’m also used to closed storage, and I really do have a lot of dishes that just won’t fit into lower drawers alone. But my friend doesn’t cook at home, he doesn’t have tons of pots or multiple dish sets. So instead of stacking empty cabinets, he has a neat metal and wood wine wall rack where he displays his small wine collection. That’s more than enough for him, everything fits, nothing gathers dust.
