Finally get my day in court tomorrow morning. Hoping to beat both my ticket and my wife's. I've got all my information together, and have talked to the folks that beat it already.

Hopefully everyone else who gets tickets keeps fighting them. It's the only way we'll get rid of the damn noise bylaw.

If anybody else is in the same spot, send me a message on here. I can provide some important information.

My friend at work doesn't go to court til June, but he shouldn't have any problems as the cops didn't follow the procedure.

I won. My wife didn't, unfortunately. There was another guy with a Honda CBR that lost as well. I won because they didn't measure the distance after I moved the bike to get it out of gear.

The main defense that has won before wasn't accepted. The court accepted that the police were not following all the guidelines (SAE J2825), and that the ones they weren't following didn't affect the test enough.

Granted, my wife's Sporty with Rinehart Crossbacks was 96db at idle. We'll baffle it as much as we can, but next ticket will be $500.

Also, the Judge seemed to agree that it was discriminatory but not in his power to make that decision. If we want to fight on that basis, we'd have to appeal to a higher court.
