Well guys tech / R&D message here.
I have had some lifters fail in my engine ( no damage ) so i started looking around at different manufacturers.
Crane , comp cam, fueling, melling and many others to say the least.
I have found much debate on the internet on the subject of lifters.
AND !!! Harley didnt re-invent the wheel with lifters.
And i have some extra ones here at the house i took apart last night to see the guts.
Today iam goin to JBPower to pick up some 1999 LS1 Corvette lifters to install.
Lots of people are using these with great success.
Crane sells the HD lifter and the Chev one with Dif # but same specs.
These are exactly the same so tonight im going to get out the micrometer and tinker.
My point is HD lifter range from 150$ and up. Fail at 30,000 - 40,000K (not always ).
Chev lifter 100,000+ 15 $ each.
HD will never admit it but after the 99b lifter they are shit..
So another wacky mission for me.
