Starting stereo upgrade, today.Everything came in yesterday. Still waiting on clutch cable to change handlebars.Would like to change guages while fairing is open, as well as chrome lowers.

Well i was looking at the rocker plate tonight..
And im thinking im goin to drill out the oil return holes under the breather..
Oil will run back much faster ..
Its under the Breather assembly ..

Would they be that small size for a reason? maybe act as a kind of a filter not letting anything too big drop down there that could plug an oil passageway?

No just small.........Some say the sewing machine sound of the 96 is cured from this.
But iam doin it mainly for oiling......Oil sitting up there is oil that could be somewhere doin some good..
All the mods/work iam doin is based on a TTS tuner / Oil Pressure / Gauges testing for me.
7 pnds psi a hd lifter needs i aim to get an idle i want with maintaining a pressure i need......
I guess the answer to your Q is .. if anything is in there and that hole was designed to stop it ........there is something wrong with the oil filter design.......
