chinashop bull when I started I wanted to kinda copy your bike but then I strayed from my original design , first stray was rims instead of wires because I could plug them on side of road then it just keep getting further and further away .

I mocked up fishtails and hated it

I requested Richard to make the saddlebag mounts to my specifications, which he did at no additional cost. I did this out of concern for the saddlebags looking too high or not level.



I also welded tabs to the rear arms so the "fender to saddlebags bracket" could be used to connect the bags together.

The tyranny of distance. It's damn hard when one is so far away from the source. I'll have to wait until I'be mounted them to see how I might modify them.

Also, I use the factory saddlebag liners for my Ultra Classic in the bubble bags. Just about perfect for them.

If you look closely at my second picture, you will see that my brackets are attached to another set of aluminum brackets (from another set of bags). I had Richard mount all the pins and arms as high on his bracket as possible, that gave me all the flexibility I needed. The aluminum brackets also pushed my bags out just enough to clear the axle.

China, that bike nails it! Best looking FLD yet in my opinion.

I talked to the guy that bought mine and he has picked up a narrow glide for it and he's removing the FL set up. His dad may use it but if not I told him there may be a market here for all of it. I'll keep you posted just in case someone is in the market.

I've had a mad day at work, plus running around picking up parts. 4 hours of assembly later, and her she is. Still waiting for the bubble bags, but so far so good.




I'm loving the gloss black primary.

Just awesome! I can tell you were in a hurry because (like me) you forgot to remove the Dyna lift blocks before taking the pictures!

I wish I has an unpainted motor, but since I don't, I may take the black engine touch up brush and paint my fins black to look older.

I like the flat side cover on the motor, just don't get the Panhead valve covers because then I will have to pony up for them too.

I've just picked up another set of stock heads which I will port, sand blast them back to bare alloy and paint grey. I'll also round over the cylinder fins and paint them flat black.

I am undecided about panhead rocker covers. If I went that path I would also fit a true generator style cam cover. Then again, I might get RSD's rocker boxes in chrome, or go gloss black and PC my cam cover too.

Bubble bags had not turned up. Bummer.

Dunno why, but keep thinking about a Tsukayu batwing fairing, once I get the FLST front end done.
