Just bought a DFT trike
Wife can't ride with me on the Heritage anymore because she's on blood thinners, so we've been looking at trikes lately. I found a 2001 Ultra with DFT's smoothie conversion on it only two miles from the house. 56,000 miles, very clean, owned by a lady. Husband wasn't sure what had been all done to it, but he had some dyno graphs showing just under 100 hp/tq with it. She's put around 20,000 on the bike with 5-6 trips to Sturgis and several to a relative's in Nebraska.
Husband bought her a Tri Glide, but she preferred the DFT, but agreed to sell the oldest one. He didn't know if the cam chain tensioners had been addressed, but he had a big stack of receipts. I'll have to make sure about that. There's no reverse on the bike, but she insisted that hadn't been a problem. The lady is in her fifties, about 5'4" and 180 lbs.
Probably paid too much, $14k, but I haven't had any luck finding Tri Glides or Freewheelers reasonable. I'll probably be doing all or most of the driving, but she just feels safer on the back of a trike.
I did a bunch of searches on DFT, and didn't find a single bad thing said about them. I'll be hanging around here for a while asking questions, I'm sure. We'll pick it up Monday.

Nice looking Trike. A couple that lives near me has the same kit and they are very happy with it. I have bought the Low Rider ST Kit for my 2007 Dyna Superglide. I did a fair amount of research before I bought and liked everything I saw. Talking with them I was very confident I was getting a quality kit from a knowledgeable company. Just have to get off my butt and install it. Will be waiting to hear how you like it.
