Well, that's disappointing. Was this a private seller or a dealer? Do you think the issue with the front was crash/impact related? That's the downside of the used bike market, sifting through all the rocks to find the gem. Luckily, it's a buyers market out there right now; I hope you can find what you're looking for and can move on to the conversion stage soon...

It was a private seller. I am not an expert but I assume it was impact related. I don't know what else could cause that. We'll keep sifting until we find that gem.

It was probably the neck bearings are loose and the triple tree fork bolts also causing the wheel to be cocked. They are famous for that. One of the guys I ride with had the same issue. It took 1/2 hour to tighten up and it rides perfect now

Hey Gerald, we actually found the identical bike without issues and less miles. I had the local indie install it so no build pics. Here's the finished product.

Wow that looks good. She will be really bothered at the gas stops with that bike by people complementing it. Haven't started the conversion on my sportster yet. still getting the bike looking the way I want it first. The freewheeler is probably going to be sold as it is just too much matinence to keep it running without it heating up too much. It has 65,000 miles on it and is burning a lot of oil but the extended warranty will not do any thing as they say the rings are a wear item and if they rip it apart and don't find anything broken I will have to pay for the repairs. Also the belt could be wearing out soon with that many miles and it is a $1800.00 bill to change that. So I will just get an Indy to redo the motor and then sell it. At least with the Frankenstein kit on a sporty I can do most of the repairs myself and the motor wont be melting down while I am riding it.
Merry Christmas
Gerald

That looks great. Do you have any other pics? Maybe one from the rear?

Hey Shane,

Here is a picture from the back. The rear fenders are set back 1 extra hole from how Frankenstein recommends. If you follow the instructions they wouldn't sit back quite as far.

Thanks Bandit. That looks great. I could easily see me doing that to my Deluxe someday.
