Don't know the mileage, but sharp looking.....going to look at it more closely Tuesday.

Should I consider or wait until the trike comes in?

Hey there. Jumping in a little late here (sorry) but I recently bought a used 1998 anniversary edition w/ only 2185 miles on it (still new) and paid 20,500$ for it last September 2008. A little high but given the low milage I am happy with the over all purchase. New, the rigs go for about 30-32,000$. The rig you mentioned is now 6 years old. 27,995 is a bit over. Depending what the milage is I would look up the Kelly blue book retail on the combo and maybe split the difference between what they are asking and what Kelly BB reccomends.

What I found:
Retail on Utra: 13970
Retail on SC: 5480

Total cost: 19450-20,000 (320 more if EFI)

so maybe offer 23,000$? (you can always go up, never down)

My experience riding a S/C rig is it recquires work and for awhile anyways dilligence and paying attention. Read as much as you can because that helps a lot. It'll tell you what to expect, how to avoid problems and the quirks of it. In the beginning, when I first bought it, sight unseen except reading as much as I could I thought I would die. Jumped right on I-95 and off to the races. The sidecar shakes the bike in ways I was not a customed to. 5000 miles later and this last December I rode it to Ocracoke Island and felt like a rock star. With the exception of that one suprise flying sidecar incident I tooled right a long. Take it slow, research and learn about it. Maybe even find and participate in someones sidecar riding class some where. I personally am feeeling much better about it.

I have no idea about trikes.

I looked at the bike and sidecar also. it has 4000 miles on it, which isn't alot. however, $27K for a 6 year old bike with a smaller engine than the new ones, is really high cost. price a new ultra, add a side car and it would seem that a new one is a much better deal.

Dealer won't budge on the ultra w/sidecaer....let it sit there and take up space.

I decided to wait for the trike to come in....traded the Sportster in last week while the trade-in price was acceptable (rather than wait until later when it would definitely be lower).

I'm happy with my decision. Can't wait for riding season to begin

Did you order a Trike? Unless Harley increases production most dealers have every 2009 and 2010 Tri-Glide they will get sold already. If you don't have a deposit down now it could be a long wait.

wife was in there today and mentioned that we could probably get an '09 with sidecar for somewhere around $29K, and that their $27k for a 6 year old bike was out of line. they offered to sell at $24K, but i think we'll stick with the UC and Bushtec.

24,000$ is not to bad when you consider its probably around $29,-30,000 new?

Dealer has (6) tri-glides due March-April....(3) from local HD shop (closed) and (3) for main store for a total of six. I have a deposit on one of 'em (rich red sunglo).
