So... somebody cut me off and I had my first accident in 25 years. The bike is total. My wife is now asking about a trike vs another Ultra Limited. Thoughts? I've never had a trike.
I wouldn't feel cool on a trike. Not about what other people think of me on one, just what I think about the idea and its not something I would consider unless I was considerably older and didn't want to or couldn't physically handle the weight of a bike.
And lucky you're here to talk about it. You get hurt at all?

One of the guys I rode with yesterday has a trike. When we hit the super twisty part of the ride, about 15 miles I knew he was getting a workout, which he confirmed when we took a break. They are not for me and usually slow down a group ride.
You don't say why the wife wants a trike so??? If I were to go that route I would probably look close at the Polaris Slingshot. Rode with a guy that had one a couple days ago and he said that thing is a ball. And if your wife wants that security feeling, the Slingshot would give her a whole lot more of it. It's like riding in a car and can be accessorized with plenty of add on stuff to include a roof. Check some out on YouTube and see what your wife thinks.
But forget about the wife and get another Ultra, or better yet a Road Glide Ultra.
That is something only you could answer , in my eyes anyway, I would go to dealer , and ride one, might give ya a better idea of if its time, or if you want one, Good luck, and congrat's on whatever you choose !
Unless you NEED a trike..... (physical limitations, etc) stay on 2 wheels.
they don't call them GEEZER Glides for nothing.
If you are going to 3 wheels.... a T-Rex is the only way to go, but there are tons of used Can-Am Spyders and even the new Polaris 3 wheelers out there for short money if you really have the need for a second bike the old lady will get in/on.
Trike? Is she thinking that would be safer?? If so, I bought my wife a 4 year old, low mileage BMW 335i convertible for not much more than the trike. 300hp, 300lbs of torque twin turbo. That car is a blast to drive and if the weather turns, you put the top up. I'd do that over a trike.
I'm not sure of any reason to go trike unless you have health issues that prevent you from holding up the Limited.
I agree with a previous post that a Slingshot could be fun and safer. They are unique and get a lot of looks going down the road.
Have your wife watch the old movie, The World According to Garp. I love the scene where he buys the house, AFTER the plane flies into it. "The odds of it happening again are astronomical. It's been pre disastered. We'll be safe here"
