Stock spark plugs work as designed and allow for best ion sensing knock retard behavior.
The sysrem was designed around the resistance of the stock secondary ignition components (plugs AND wires) to work properly.
Any change in the expected resistances (aftermarket plugs and/or wires) can and will send incorrect info to the ECM causing false knock retard....not a good thing!
Stick with the stock stuff and avoid possible issues.
Hope this helps,
Bob

NGK stock replacement plugs are made to the same resistance specs and I have used them and the colder rated plug with great success.
