I've been told by my friend who has a shop working exclusively on HD bikes, which he's been doing well for decades, and has maps from the 70s, that some pipes, like the Bassanis are "untuneable". He said that the sensors go from extremely rich to extremely lean 100 times a second, and the tuner just doesn't know how to handle that. With such a vast difference between them, it can't find any "median" that will consistently work well.
