well, this is a throw back to the automotive world. you can thank the big brothers in charge.
money is not the issue as they make money no matter.
it is the dishonest element in society. first it started with high end audio and now progressed to the vehicle itself. if a programmed ecu does not see what it expects to see, basically a brick, even iphone will brick out on you if you enter the wrong pass code a few times.
does the ecu really need to be married, well no as long as it is programmed for it.
