Starts and immediately shuts off

I recently purchased a 2010 SG. When I bought the bike, the speedo and tach did not work. I figured out the gauges were not getting power from the battery. After fixing the issue, the bike now starts and immediately dies. The red security key stays on, and check engine light kicks on as soon as it dies. I checked in diagnostics and found the P1010 code. I’ve done the computer relearn with the password and the bike will not stay running. When I try clearing the P1010 code, I get a PN of ctb00901. Does anyone know what part this is? I can’t seem to find it.

It sounds like it needs a password learn procedure done

Are you by chance using an FP3 ? If so , this issue is known to happen when it's connected . To remedy the problem , you can either remove the unit once the tune is complete or turn the switch to run before turning the ignition on , worked for me . For some reason the security doesn't complete it's communication . Maybe this issue is known to happen to other tuners as well , I don't know .

My bike would start right away and then stall , it would start on the second attempt and stay running . I would just clear the code , it would only happen once every ten or so starts .

I’ve tried the password relearnt several times. Also, no tuner on the bike. The bike won’t stay running. I still haven’t be able to locate that part via the number I added in the pictures.

Hoping this information may help , step 4 tells me if the tssm can't be reset you might have an error / issue going on . Sounds crazy but even a blown bulb could cause an issue as well .

I'm no electrical expert here , just found this interesting and thought it might help .

Thinking that the previous owner had the issue, disconnected the guages and sold it. Did the link provided by MyFavRk work?
