New member and thanks for having me .2002 ultra classic bike cold starts fine after a ride engine stays @1000 rpm and is not right. oil pressure is good
new temp sensor new IAC new intake seals cleaned and removed throttle body. Battery is good new plugs bike has a historic code. This happened on my way home one night has been idling like this for a month now
things I've checked so far
vss sensor cleaned
Crank sensor cleaned
Check for vacuum leaks
Check for codes
Looked at exhaust system
Check all wire connectors and fuel injector wires
as of yesterday having a starting problem it's random I have to give it a tiny bit of throttle for it to fire up now and other times just push the button.

So when hot the idle stays at 1000 rpm. I don't think that is off, You could take some kind of tuner and maybe increase it to 1100. I am guessing the bike is new to you, and you think 1000 rpms is low. If it is steady, and not bouncing, I think fine. You can look in the manual for what it should.be

What does this mean????? RPM is an RPM. You do know rubber mounted motors shake like a paint can mixer at idle? I think you gave your bike a nice refresh which i think is good idea based on age, but are probably chasing your tail. But I have not seen the bike.
You first harley or first rubber mounted harley?

Do you know how many M8 owners would love to have their bikes idle like that?
That is as close to the classic HD sound that you're going to get out of a Twin Cam without spending some serious $.
It does sound like it may have some aftermarket cams in them.
That said, if you want the idle higher, adjust it higher.
