2003 Heritage ignition problems
Have a 03 Heritage that had a bearing failure on the outer forward cam bearing. After evaluating the situation I decided to go with a geared cam setup. The problem is I cannot get any fire out of the spark plugs except after I release the start button I will get a spark or two. I have voltage going to the coil but none comming out. I have tried different batteries but to no avail. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks

Ignition
There are several things that can cause what you describe: ignition fuse, low battery, connections, wiring, connections on each, etc. How long since the work did this start? What you did wasn't electrical but did you unplug anything? I know sounds like I lost my keys: where did you see them last? If you knew that... Granted, with battery voltage IN at the W/BLK wire you should have battery voltage OUT at the P wire. Washed it lately? I had water in the RUN/STOP and/or IGNITION SWITCH on my XL this weekend that did exactly what you describe! A bad switch will also cause the coil voltage to shunt. Check your RUN/STOP switch. Good idea on the CKP also goes along with "several things that can go wrong": any trouble codes present?
CHECK COIL/SPARK WIRE RESISTANCE: PRIMARY 2.5-3.1 OHMS
SECONDARY 10,000-12,500 OHMS
SPARK WIRES 250-583 per inch of cable
My "armchair bet" is a bad coil (or P wire connection) since you have power on one side but not the other! but have ya on the e-mail alert to follow along...
