Question What does this code mean?...P1353 Front Cylinder No Combustion EFI

I keep getting this code when I check. The check engine light comes on if you crack the throttle hard and stays lit for several seconds to several minutes. 2005 Ultra, fuelpak, ness big sucker, restec hard krome pipes. no other engine mods.

Anyone?

Thanks

It thinks you're not firing on the front cylinder. Either it's failing to detect the firing or it's really not firing. It only comes on when you crank the throttle because it only attempts to detect misfires at high engine speeds. So first thing would be to check if you're getting a spark. If you are then there is a problem with the ignition module, the ion signal line to the ecm or the ecm.

Easiest thing to do is change the plugs and wires. Without the HD tools it can be difficult to check for spark on EFI as I don't believe it will fire when not hooked up like on a carb model.

I'm in the Electrical diagnostic manual right now looking at the code and it tells you to check for spark via wires. You can pull the front plug wire and check for resistance with an ohmmeter though. Resistance for front (on an 09) should be 4125-11334 Ohms. Resistance for rear (on an 09) should be 8625-23334 Ohms.

I would skip the checking and just change out the plugs and wires, clear the code, and see if it comes back.

OH....FIRST....check to be sure the plug wires are firmly seated on the plugs and coil terminals. That could be it too. Use some dielectric grease and make sure the contacts are clean.

If first reseating wires and using dielectric grease, then replacing wires/plugs and clearing codes doesn't fix the problem....then it could be your coil. That would be the next thing to check or replace.

You can ground the plug to check for spark. You just need to stick another plug in the hole so you don't ignite gas coming out the plug hole. You can also buy cheap little lights that you hold to the plug wire which flashs when it discharges.
