My understanding of it would be just what you said. It can add or remove fuel from the front or rear cylinder. The front cylinder does not need as much fuel to cool as the rear. If your bike have been tuned by a pro tuner you really do not need to use the trim feature. I am running the advanced map were both of my cylinders were tuned seperately buy the tuner.

The PC USB is the only way to go if you are using a PC. The USB writes 2 independant fuel and spark maps. When an engine is modified, you can't just map one cylinder and "trim" the other and expect to get optimal performance. Looking at the EFI Tuner VE tables proves this. The cylinders breathe completely differently. This becomes a considerable factor when you change exhaust system configs.
