Hiccups in a Fat Boy, 05, 88
Need some help, until I get back into the forum...hope I'm in the right area for my question.
2005 Fat Boy, 88, 24,000 miles; has always ran very good. Last weekend little 500 mile run to Va, WVa, Md, back to PA. During the run I noticed that the bike wasn't idling (just started it up early morn) "right". Can't tell what I noticed but it just wasn't right. Anyhow about 2 miles down the road I noticed an intermittent hiccup right around 40 maybe 50 mph. Figured it was just a "thing". No biggie.
Rode up, down, around those WVa hills and every now and then I'd get that one little blip, not actually a "miss" but just a quick blip. Tried to determine if it occured going uphill, downhill, curves, low rpm, high rpm, and couldn't map anything out. Opened the bike up on the last straight-away getting back home and it was a little more noticeable if I got on the throttle pretty hard at 65, 70, maybe a little faster. Gas mileage on the trip was a best of 51 and a low of 46. Bike is not overheating (checking oil temp), running anywhere from 200 to 230.
Anyone out there have any solutions? I've done the wire check, haven't pulled any plugs yet. Put some Seafoam in the bike but no difference yet.
thanks in advance!
