nice rides.....

 

I realize I'm a few days behind on this thread, but I have question for you New York staters. I was in NYC and Westchester county late last year and thought that whole place was freakin' awesome. I want to ride my bob back up there soon, but with the way people drive up there I was just wondering how you deal with riding a motorcycle amidst the craziest cage drivers I've ever seen. I realize parts of L.I. are way away from NYC but maybe some of you live near there. Anybody ever been to the Surf Club in New Rochelle? Being a small town southern guy all that area was always interesting.

 

Its not that bad. Makes for some challenging riding!

I know the Surf club - my cousin was married there...nice place, they have their own beach on the LI sound.

The craziest drivers are probably in NY but they are also good drivers for the most part. Ill take it over the drivers that Florida has to offer any day. They are by far the worst drivers I have seen, Its as if they think there the only ones on the road and half of them cant see over the steering wheel.

If you do plan on heading up let us know and well see about gettin a ride together.

After being in Daytona last march and nearly getting clipped numerous times in less than a wk ( like we were made of glass/invisible) I'll take the nutty Bodega Cab drivers on 3rd Ave, they at least see you, even if they are gunning for you. And at least them you can smack.

Nothing worse than a geriatric crowd, with limited eyesight, and a NY based attitude who could give a sh*t less about bikers....

 

The reason I was at the Surf Club was for a wedding reception. Must have cost that girls daddy $25,000 grand or more to have all that food and sh*t. The beach in front of that place reminded me of the final party scene in "Meet Joe Black." If I can afford to head that way this summer I let you guys know. I burned about $1,000 in four days last September, but it was fun....... Now if I can just find that hot chick who I danced with at the wedding.

As you guys said, they make some beautiful bikes. But, since the show has become so popular, if you ride up there to take a look at the shop, they won't even let you on the grounds unless you can prove you are shopping for one of their bikes.
My brother and some friends drove to see the sjop and Paul Jr. told them to get lost if they are not buying a bike.

If it was not for the fans of the show, they would not be where they are now. They may sign autographs and bull &*^% with you when they are on the road, (because of PR), but forget about ever visiting.
