I was in '75 to '79. Two years on South Padre Island and two years on the 82 Point Estero. Went through some pretty mean storms out in the Gulf of Mexico on that 82. Damn near rolled us several times times. Nosed in clear to the house, and the dumb asses that we were searching for were sitting in a bar in Mobile and didn't bother to tell their wives that they were safe in port. Sometimes I kick myself in the ass for not retiring, but hey, what are ya gonna do?

After school I went to a life boat station, from there to Ambrose Tower for a yeay another one on an 82' in Nam and finally another on a 82' in Fire Island. Rode a 53 pan back then, miss the pan more than the Guard LOL

That is a way cool picture! I was in 74 through 78, on the Raritan for 2 years (did the Edmund Fitzgerald search, bad news that) icebreaking ops in the winter on the ant team on lake Michigan for a year and SAR on lake St Clair for the last 2. All other challenges including my by-pass have been small potatoes! Semper PaR!
