Default Why is the crushed ice a 1200 dollar add?

Just curious why the crushed ice color option is a 1200 dollar add. Most of the other solid colors are 400. I was actually considering trading for a bike that wasn't black but between the 1200 add for white, the dealers 1200 set up fee, another 400 doc fee, and the state of Virginia's 1200 tax I think I better ride the one I got for a while. The white is a nice color and not to obnoxious.

An item is worth what people will pay.

Is Starbucks worth $5.00? Nope.

But I have bought coffee at Starbucks.

I've just put my name on a new Road King and really liked that Laguna Orange but in Canada here thats an $1150 option. So my new bike is going to be black. LOL

Crushed Ice Pearl is a $500 add. Vivid Black is $23700. Crushed Ice Pearl is $24,200. It's not a solid color though. It's white with small blue green metal flakes. You'll never see the flakes unless it outside. I'd bet it's a rather hard color to match.

Mine is Crushed Ice Pearl. Love it. I've got a set of extended CVO bags waiting for paint in a couple weeks. We'll see how that goes.

You can mess around with different colors and costs here:

Here's a pic of mine:

Well try you can only get mystic pruple on a special and then they add 3 k but I don't care. But yes it is a bit much. I have seen the white in person (oc bikeweek) it is sharp.

It's 1200.00. I priced the paint because I would paint the inner the cans and change back fender and bags after the purchase. It's a two part system, the two quarts of paint from the dealer msrp would be about 250 bucks. No reason for that much mark up on bike itself is my only point. Not trying to be smart so I hope you don't take it that way.

I can almost see paying that for true custom paint like on yours, just not for white LOL. You have a beautiful bike.

I apologize, I'm not sure where your getting your info. A Vivid Black Street Glide Special is $23699. Crushed Ice Pearl Street Glide Special is $24,199. Are you talking about the cost of paint alone from HD?

BTW, I love your avatar. Duel was one of my favorite movies when I was a kid.

No reason to apologize, I looked at the dealer invoice. I then looked on the HD website and that's what pops up. http://www.harley-davidson.com/conte...modelYear=2017 I did separately price the paint just to see why the 1200.00 increase. All Harley paint is pretty expensive when purchased from the dealer, this particular white is really no more expensive then any other white they sale. The parts guy was even kind of surprised it was no more then that is.

I think that is a misprint on that page. If you go here, you'll see adding the white only bumps the price $500:
http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ree-sixty.html
I can tell you that was the sticker on my bike when I bought it: $24,199.
