Default M8 design

I'm curious about the M8 design. Does it have a pressed crank like the Twin cam or tapered built up crank like an Evo? Timkin bearing supported crank? Is the oil pump still mounted concentric to the crank? And what's the crank runout spec?

All they needed was a counterbalanced Evo with new heads.

I want a new bike however I'm not sold on the new design yet.

It kind of sounds like you want an Evo actually.

Many of us remember the four valve Evo heads in the 90's.

It has a pressed in crank pin. But it is larger than the one in the TC. The number of actual failures with the pressed in crank pin is so low I would not let that concern me.

I never heard of a four valve head on an evo.
I want a crank that can maintain close to zero runout, not scissor and be supported by Timken bearings, Especially with a concentrically mounted oil pump.

Someone actually made them. Don't remember who. They were not exactly a hot seller.

Yes, Fueling made the four valve heads, never knew anyone with them. The EVO was a good motor but far from perfect, had my issues with them back in the day.

By 1998 all the issues were sorted out with the Evo motors. Looking at the new design, with the single chain driven cam, pressed crank and no Timken bearings, it looks like a cheaper version of the evo.

Larger displacement, the four valve heads, cam grind, anti knock sensors and better ecm programming are making the M8 a stronger motor. The counterbalance is just icing. Makes me wonder what they've done with the compensator and primary chain tensioner on the new motors.

I want hyabusa smooth, Cummins diesel freight train pull and longevity, Harley style and comfort.

Maybe a Goldwing, with tassels, a tank lift, and out of balance wheels?
