I’m 98%. Slight concussion, 6 sutures to close my elbow, and superficial road rash from hip to armpit.
55mph two lane highway. Asphalt paved with 0.5-1” gravel. It’s a 40mph(?) right-left s-curve. I was going around the right hander when a vehicle was approaching from the other direction. I saw they were tight against the yellow centerline so I moved to the outside position of my lane as I entered the left hander. Hit some loose gravel and front washed out.
As soon as the wheel slipped it went to the grass and the bike left from under me. I got lucky I only hit about 1ft of the road and the rest in the grass. Left elbow/forearm hit first, then hip and head (I suppose). After head hit I was in the grass seeing stars. My elbow was dripping blood. I got up and stood there dazed. Took off my helmet to talk to the off duty sheriff deputy that was driving by and stopped. The other five or so cars before him didn’t stop. EMS was on the scene in a few minutes. They put a c-collar on me and walked me to the stretcher.
My helmet was a Harley Capstone modular (this is the rebranded HJC IS-Max2). Barely any scratches on it. Chin bar did not open. Outer shield was wide open and did not pop off. Inner shaded visor was in the down position and popped out upon impact.
Haven’t inspected bike yet. Looked it over briefly and see a lot of bent parts, dented tins, and broken plastic. I’ll post more about that later.

Glad you're pretty much OK, it happens fast. I used to ride in a t-shirt quite often in the summertime, now anytime it's below 80* degrees I wear my FXRG jacket & when it's hot I wear a mesh jacket, not much protection but might help a little. The bike can be fixed, us not always as easily.

Hey Brandon I'm really glad you are not hurt any worse but any injury sucks. Take your time and heal up properly. I feel bad for you and your bike but I hope the girl is not too bad off and can be put back on the road. I hate seeing pics like that and I can't believe all those thoughtless a-holes passed you by. It's a sign of the times unfortunately.
