Glad you are ok. obviously the other guy needs to take some lessons. Hopefully he had insurance.
On a side note when you get your beautiful bike back replace the shifter arm ends to heim joints. So you are not broke down on the side of the road. Just a friendly tip for you.

damn.. seriously glad you're ok. obviously it could have been worse. my friend, also on a touring bike was run off the road by a truck not paying attention.. he managed to jump ship before it ran off into a serious ditch. bike was totaled but he escaped with very minor injuries thanks to his full face helmet. makes you realize anything is possible when you're out there. Anything you can add to the incident? how did it happen? for me, even after 25 years of riding all sorts of bikes, every incident is still a learning opportunity. glad you're ok.

I beat the hell out of my bags anyway. Passengers are worse with the bling on their girl boots. I would much rather scratch these Chinese copies.
I thought about getting a set of these and putting them on my new bike, and putting the OEMs in a closet.

You could do this while insurance replacement, whatever is being worked out. Not bad for $150, delivered.
