S&S Mk45's

I have them on mine and have the stage 1 upgrade with SE a.c. and tune. I think they sound great when you're one the throttle and even cruising. But like others have said, nothing to brag about at idle. Hoping a stage 2 torque cam will help. Well I'm seriously considering even holding off on that and going aftermarket when my warranty is up.....or close to being up.

I am running them on my RGS. THey're great, the quality of the build is outstanding and they do exactly what I hoped they would. They are touring quiet at idle and moderate cruising, then open up nicely when on the gas. If you want an all-the-time noisemaker this is not your pipe. Rather, its for the guy that goes out for 6 to 10 hours on the bike and wants to still have some hearing left when he gets home, and the ability to hear the radio while riding. My days of jackhammering exhaust in my ear are over, though I appreciate a rumble when I'm on the gas. I run with baffles in, no tune on the bike.
And they look great on the bike, too. Best price I was able to find was at at West End Motorsports in PA.

Tone on the S&S is deeper, and the pipe is quieter at cruise with baffles in than the Vance and Hines. The S&S is much finer crafted - heavier, and not the easiest to install with the 4.5" size vs the 4". There is precious little clearance on the right pipe to get by the axle nut. The black billet ends - perfect. You will pay more for this pipe - but there's a lot to like. I haven't pulled out the baffles, probably never will.
When you crack the gas, there is plenty of smile it will rumble when you want it to - rest of the time you can hear the radio and talk to your passenger if you want unlike the V&H.
