M8 Synthetic Vs Dino

M8 Synthetic Vs Dino
I was told to post this here instead of the oil forum...
NO DEBATE ON OIL HERE PLEASE!
I'm nearing my first 1,000 service and I have always been a believer in synthetic. Not a huge fan of Harley Oil but I stick with it since I have all my service done at dealership. When I had my Ultra limited I did notice the engine seemed to be a little more tap heavy when using synthetic compared to dino oil. I was told as far as the Harley branded oils go, their synthetic does make the engine tap more then the dino.
I'm still going with Synthetic and with the new M8 I will start it at the 1k oil change rather then the 5K I did on my 103 ( I have my reasons and i'm comfortable with that). Does the new M8 engine exhibit the same behavior that my 103 engine did when running synthetic?

What ever helps you slept at night. Syn have come way down in prices over the years.
They do stand up to heat better.
Some have put 100,000 miles on HD running nothing but standard HD lubes. Others have done the same running syn.
Comes down to what helps you sleep better at night.
The Tapping in a TC 103 has nothing to do with oil. There is away to make it go away it is harmless. No secret just everyone wants to sell a lot of stuff you don't need and pretend it is a serious issue.

I do run Redline in the transmission and primary, it does make a difference.

His logic was the oil forum is not as popular as the M8 forum and I would get more feedback here since it’s M8 specific question. I think he was just trying to help that’s all.
However, no matter how you set the tone. Oil is like religion and politics. I suspect this topic will become highjacked and finish with what type of oil is best other then tapping sound from the engine.
