cam chain tensioner shoe
anybody doing cam changes noticing any wear concerns at all or they looking as good as new? seems like for such a small inexpensive part might just put a new one in while it's all apart..but guessing since a lack of hearing these mentioned this falls into the no news is good news category right?

don't know other than there's only 1 now obviously...just a curiosity thing, if anyone noticed wear grooves or something that would make you want to replace and start fresh since it's already apart..if it looks like new after say 20K then probably will be fine well over 50K, 75k or....just a cheap little part that does have a spinning chain wear on it so why not eh?

again, it's just a simple curiosity question, stemming from the thoughts and comments about if people replace lifters when they change cams..guess the people most qualified to answer the simple question are people like Steve and Jamie here who have done many many cam jobs and would have inspected the wear item parts

I asked my shop straight out about this if it was a concern on the M8. Said don’t worry about it for 50,000 miles

that sounds reasonable..so yeah, if you're your doing a cam around ~20K then that $5-$10 shoe seems like a no brainer to postpone having to go back in there for another 20k or so
