Heres my M8 OEM cam. 1500 miles, oil pump failure, over bored cylinders. But dont even look at the wear pattern on the lobes. How about the third world assembly marks cause the idiots don't have a clue how to press the lobes on the shaft and the sorry *** wear pattern because they cheap out on the cam bearing. Thats third world right there. I've bought and paid for my thrid and last Harley. It's a freaking shame.....

A M8 nesting wishing it was a real motorcycle with real engineering and production. All thats missing is nitting needles and mud flap ****.

Psyshack, the wear on your OEM cam looks like the same wear pattern as on my OEM cam.......

My cam top picture. What is the reasoning for the wear...I am not aware that my 114 Softail motor has ever had an oil issue.

What do you think?
Just pretend that you never opened the cam box and leave it in the cupboard.
Then wipe all the negative thoughts that have been planted in your head, and just Ride!

Dealers are not replacing lifters when a stage 2 is done. Makes me wonder if they’re changing the inner cam bearing. I think I know the answer to that

The bearing surface is the well know cheap HD spec cam bearing. A very minimalist approach they seem very proud of.

The scratch marks on the lobes are more than likely environmental damage. IE silicate, dirt, carbon and such. It could also be caused by production debri left in the engine. But those cam lobes are really pretty hard. They have clearly been heat treated then finish grind applied. OR scratches applied during final grind. My lifter rollers do not have corresponding/matching scratch marks on them or pits.

Our OEM cams really are not that bad as HD OEM cams go. It appears your was assembled a lot better than mine.

Sixguns cam is a true mess.

I know the cam bearing was changed when my cam went in. And the lifters were changed out also as part of the engine rebuild. All be it they were OEM HD lifters.

Just had a ride today on my 114 Heritage with the Torque Cam installed. The Rev limiter hits solidly at 5,600 RPM. Tried it twice today in 2nd gear.........WTF. The Torque Cam SE flash is suppose to up the Rev limiter to a higher #

I am going to take it in...again for a supposed 3rd Reflash....
