IIRC a while back the dealer installed the (then) latest oil pump. How has the bike performed since then?

Would love to hear a little more info re the Sumping of your 114 Fatbob.

What was the date of manufacture, how many miles. What happened, what were the symptoms, how hard do you ride your bike.

Any other info that you can give.

Yours is the first that I have heard of or read about.

My 114 Heritage Softail with a 10/17 mfg date is just under 5,000 miles with a dealer installed HD Torque Cam and SEPro reflash. Is run very hard, extended cruise at 90 to 100 etc. No issues.

Update:
So my motor was rebuilt 3-4 weeks ago... I just put 1500 mile son my bike and... top end started ticking slightly on the freeway, they stopped, then became VERY loud... it's happening again for me.
Exact same symptoms as the first time/failure. Cams are next...etc...

I formally hired the attorney this morning. Good luck to all of you. I'm done with M8, will try to gt my $$ back.

ps: for those curious, my original post is in here... https://www.hdforums.com/forum/milwa...ilures-22.html

I’m sorry to read about the problems you’re having, it definitely sucks and I can understand your frustrations. If I may, I’d like to add my thoughts. You have an extended warranty, let it work as designed, if the motor completely blows up then they’ll replace it. Hiring an attorney to get your money back will end up costing you a lot more in the end. The moment he dealer and/or moco catch wind of an attorney, all work will cease as they will now consider the case in litigation. The moco will have their army of lawyers tie up the proceedings for years. If you’re financed, then you’re still on the hook for the monthly note.

If in the end your attorney wins, they will take away their fees from the settlement

I was lucky enough to be able to afford an extended warranty indeed, but lemon laws apply before extended warranty kicks in! And I'm still under factory warranty that's why I need to try to get my $$ back now.

I do get your point: they'll keep on fixing my motor but... they take weeks and I need to go to work. Extended warranty only kicks in for 10 days car rental, under $750. They won't pay uber, cab, nothing else, only car rental...
so basically I'm stuck. I need to move on.
There is a design issue in those motor. it's not just a dealership problem (even though my dealership refuses to admit anything is wrong before my motor dies). We have service bulletin, even job offers form MOCO looking for oiling expert etc and hundred of testimony. . I can't keep on being without transportation...so I'll take my chance/risk... I don't see any other way. Very very sad.
