I never go for the extended warranties on anything. One way to look at it is that if you buy an extended warranty, you're betting that you WILL have problems, and the warranty company is betting that you WON'T. And the warranty company doesn't LOSE money selling extended warranties. YMMV.

exactly, they'll always be the smaller % of folks that had it save their $*** but in the grand scope it doesn't pay off for most..all boils down to rolling the dice and gambling on how lucky or not you'll be

True, so far at least, and if they exclude sumping, modded engines, fluid transfers and any accompanying damage etc. then that will probably continue to be the case.

Seems to me that if the MoCo actually believed even half of the endless stream of BS propaganda they crank out about these bikes, then they'd come with a 5-7 year factory warranty to begin with.

My thoughts on extended warrantees , don't buy it off the bat wait out the 1st year and if the vehicle has not given you trouble then you probably don't need it, if your having issues then get it or trade the vehicle. I never buy extended warranties. I bought 5 new vehicles in the last 5 years, between bike , cars and corvettes, if I paid 2k for each ext warrantee that would add up to 10k. I rather keep the 10k and take my chances.

I absolutely NEVER buy the extended warranty. And I have bought tons of vehicles over the years.

But after reading about the sumping, transfer, etc. problems with the new bikes, I bought an additional 4 years for my 2018 Limited from DiscountESP.

ESP bumped up to 4 years, unlimited miles for a great rate when I bought it. Problem is.....it's the only thing keeping me from voiding my warranty.......

They have to offer something to entice buyers to a bike that looks like only Liberace would ride. Scout looks good but just buy a honda so you don't have to worry about warranty.
