You also have to consider that many of the haters on this forum don't even own an M8. They feel it is their duty to dis the bike when someone has a problem with it.

Have I had problems. Just transfer which I cured. That didn't affect that the bike is really a joy to ride. Lots of torque, goes when the throttle is twisted. Pulls from below the 2000 rpm range. What more do you want. Will I buy another one. Probably so. It will probably be a 2019 model and it won't be a new one. I'm tired of paying the dealer a bunch of money up front. If I buy used in Arizona there's no sales tax, so it is a win all around. And I'll probably mod it right away, so I don't care about a warranty. I'm my warranty!

One thing I would do if you are new to Harleys is buy a 107 or 114 and don't go past stage 2 with your mods until the warranty is over if the warranty is important to you. Seems doing Screamin' Eagle stage 3 & 4 kits really increases the possibility of sumping. It does not seem to manifest itself when aftermarket mods are done, so go figure.

Lots of pi$$ing and moaning about the M8 (and MANY many other things) on this forum-but for every moaner there are 100 happy riders.
Oh? How'd the lever work out? Simple installation? Reduced effort?

The hydraulic clutch problem is really weird. I have AIM heavy duty springs in mine that I installed to assure we wouldn't have any clutch slipage when we were doing the cam testing. I can attest that the clutch pull was pretty stiff. At some time in the testing, and Steve Cole can verify this, I pulled the clutch actuator to see if any oil from the primary was condensing there and when I put the actuator back on the clutch pull was much lighter. It's been good since then. Some time in the future I will install a 10 plate clutch pack and I will go to Harley's 1200 springs at that time which should make the pull even lighter. Don't ask me what pulling and re-installing the actuator did to make the pull better, I don't know, but it did.

I know 11k miles in 9 months isn't a lot but I have enjoyed every one of them. I too read all the issues here people have but have yet to meet anyone out there on an M8 with any of these issues.

Thanks to this forum I am aware of the issues and keep a close watch on the fluids. Also thanks to this forum I purchased a service manual and have done everything myself since the 1k service. I have learned a lot here and although it seems like the negative comments far outweigh the positive I don't dwell on them.

Every forum I have ever been a member of was the same way. Back when I purchased my first Powerstroke Diesel in 1997 I was worried with all the stuff I read. That forum taught me a lot about the trucks I still drive today. I've had three of them, the 97 was traded after 125k miles, my first 2002 had close to 750k miles, my current 2002 has 250k miles.

Yes I love this bike with the M8 and I also love my truck. Sounds like a country song.

It's only a country song if your bike leaves you and your truck quits school.

Spend enough time here and you will see it's the same 3-4 guys blabbing the the same **** and a dozen or so parrots that repeat all of it over and over. The M8 isn't perfect, nothing is. The 2 guys that have had the biggest problems say the least if that tells you anything.

So far, so good with mine. Night and day better than the 2008 I traded in. I've had a weird schedule though, so only have 1,100 miles on it so far.
