don't really remember, other than ours on both bikes were staggered replacements months apart..we got our M8's the week they were introduced..and we weren't starting in gear intentionally and regularly just test..sometimes when we did they wouldn't work then would later, etc...lubed them sometimes..just real random failure intervals I guess..been testing more frequently lately though as warranty expiration is rapidly approaching

Well if the switch goes bad again after the warranty runs out, you can buy lighted switch packs for both sides from boardtramcker for what the one left side switch costs retail. The clutch lever wouldn’t come up, but I don’t see why it was necessary to replace it anyway.
edit: found this as well
Service bulletin m1468: 2017 - 2018 touring and trike - clutch switch update. This bulletin informs the dealer network that a revised lhcm (left hand control module) is available. The new parts have a stronger spring in the clutch switch

I am on the 3rd clutch switch pack. Hopefully this new lever will stop the destruction of the switch packs. My buddy sent me this:
There is a problem with the clutch lever that destroys clutch switches. Send this information to your dealer. Service bulletin on the clutch switch is M-1468. They need to replace the left hand control module (P/N 71500128B) and the clutch lever (P/N 36700133A). That part number for the clutch lever is for the stock lever (polished). This will solve your problem.
