I went with Rockford Fosgate's kit because it installs into your existing bag lids and looks more or less stock. It's $500 for the speakers alone, but it saves the hassle of painting, etc. The speakers themselves aren't fantastic but they are decent for marine grade. I ride with no windshield and a full face helmet and I can hear music fine at highway speeds, but I do need to play it at a pretty high volume. I'd recommend an amplifier that puts out 75 or more watts per channel continuous (many you'll find rated at 45 wpc). I used a Rockford Fosgate Punch amplifier that puts out 100 wpc and find that it's plenty powerful.
