I would say NO. Check out this 2019 stock CVO RG with sumping. The M8 engine needs a complete redesign https://www.hdforums.com/forum/screa...l#post17709640

Well, at least this makes the decision of whether to "upgrade" yet a no-brainer

Curious what the build date of your bike is (it’s located on the vin sticker). A poster on here supposedly confirmed with Harley that any bikes made on/after 5/18 have the seal.

Remove exhaust. Remove cam cover. Remove cam support plate and oil pump. Reverse process taking care to install new oring and align oil pump. Much easier than a twin cam as the push rods, lifters and cam can remain in place.

is there a Tq process on the cam support plate? I don't tkink anyone has an issue pulling exhaust and cam cover but some of the technical points need to be stated, maybe. I've never dived into the cam chest of a TC or M8.

Yes. Lot of stuff needs torqued and in the proper order. Not something to do without a service manual. But it isn't complicated.

I doubt the 19's got this update. This will become a recall on the M8's or a 1st service repair.

Looks like The Cam plate and oil pump have to come out.

I would almost bet that early 2019 models don’t have this fix either. Maybe due to the MC not accepting sumping as a wide spread issue. I have a 2018 RGS that was on its way to sumping and A trusted mechanic installed an external engine breather with a check valve that regulated the oil pressure. No problem since with extra oil in the case. I had a stage 4 done when I purchased my bike. My bike was built in February. I asked my HD mechanic just yesterday if he installled this plate and he said no. I mention this because my stage 4 kit didn’t come in until March. The MC had to be pretty close if not already started on building the 2019s at that time. Just a though. Would be nice if we could verify if they aren’t building the 3019 bikes with these plates with HD.

+1

I think there a 9 bolts on the support plate, IIRC. And yes, the sequence and torque is critical for reassembly.

I still don't understand why some bikes do it and others don't. I put mine back together as it came from the factory, and so far no sumping issues. If I need to go back in there for any reason I will either install the new HD parts or go with the S&S setup. I'm not worried about it at this point.
