Thanks for taking on your mission and bringing awareness to suicide. Congratulations on the mileage I love my M8 Road King as well but only 23k miles last year.

Things like work can get in the way of a good ride sometimes I've found, now I'm retired I'm getting some K's in.
At ~55k miles I started getting a “no oil in lifters” kind of noise on the first start up of the day, but not always. It would come for a few days, then go away for a while. At 57k miles I had the lifters replaced with OE lifters. Problem persisted. It was noted that the cam was marred up, but they didn’t have any camshafts to install.
60k miles I had the cam replaced with a torque cam (LOVE IT!, but a Feuling cam would have been choice) and the lifters were replaced with SE lifters, oil pump was TSB’d, rover arms were replaced along with the rocker arm shafts. The noise still present.
Question.. So the "no oil in lifters" noise at start up is still present but poses no issue? This is the only problem my bike currently has and has been with me since returning from Sturgis. It is very disconcerning but after she warms up she rides like a dream. My friend who has less miles than I is starting to exhibit the same “no oil in lifters” kind of noise on the first start up of the day.
Thanks mate. Just bought 2017 Road King with 65000 Kms or 40000 miles and was a bit concerned about the high mileage. No worries now. Travelling from Australia for Sturgis this year. Can’t wait.

I thought that you were riding the King over because you couldn't 'wade' --need new glasses. Anyway, have fun.
